The Southwestern Pennsylvania Council for the Arts is the sponsor of the Annual Regional Juried Art Exhibition and also sponsors History Through Art Exhibitions.

This will be the thirteenth year for the annual exhibition; and with each passing year, it has grown to be accepted as the most outstanding, prestigious art exhibit of its kind in southwestern Pennsylvania. When the exhibition was founded 13 years ago by the Greensburg Area Cultural Council, the intent was to provide area artists with the opportunity to exhibit their work. Our area is comprised of nineteen (19) counties in southwestern Pennsylvania. The past years were successful in that the participation by the artists and the public has continued to grow. However, each year our primary problem was locating a facility within our area which was suitable to host the exhibition. We were honored to have the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art in Ligonier extend an invitation to host the eighth through twelfth exhibitions at their outstanding, nationally-recognized facility.
